About this file

This is a Notice of Prospective Grant of Exclusive Patent License issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST is contemplating granting an exclusive worldwide license to EMode Photonix LLC of Boulder, Colorado, for two infrared photodetector patents and patent applications. The licensed intellectual property consists of United States Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 62/877,932 filed July 24, 2019, entitled "Apparatus and Method for Efficient Detection of Infrared Light from Intersubband Transitions in a Semiconductor" (NIST Reference 19-042P1), and United States Patent No. 11,271,023 B2 issued March 8, 2022, entitled "Quantum Waveguide Infrared Photodetector" (NIST Reference 19-042US1). The field of use is limited to the development, manufacture, use, and sale of Licensed Products or the practice of Licensed Processes.

The prospective exclusive license will be royalty bearing and will comply with 35 U.S.C. 209 and 37 CFR 404.7.
