About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), Palm Beach County. The FDOH Palm Beach County Laboratory requires the purchase of reagents and supplies to perform Mycobacterium tuberculosis specific antigen testing using the QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus, an Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA). The testing is critical to identify clients infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and for testing outreaches to identify possible tuberculosis outbreaks. The FDOH requests authorization to purchase the test kits and collection devices as a single source from Qiagen, LLC for an estimated amount of $300,000 over 3 years.
Qiagen, LLC is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the FDA-approved reagents and collection devices for the QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus In-Tube (IGRA) system that is compatible with the FDOH's existing testing instrumentation. The FDOH has determined that maintaining continuity with these specialized products is in the best interest of the state.
