About this file

This document is an Invitation for Bids issued by the City of Boston Public Facilities Department (PFD) for the Fields Corner Branch Library Project #7246. The scope of work involves the construction of a new 14,790 square foot, two-story library building to replace the existing 8,600 square foot single-story library, which will be demolished. Filed sub-bids are required for the Elevators, Resilient Flooring, Waterproofing/Caulking, and Tile trades. The PFD has already conducted two rounds of prequalification for these sub-bid trades, but fewer than three subcontractors were prequalified, so the sub-bid submissions are now open to all. All filed sub-bids must be submitted by 12 pm on November 7, 2024, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The expected contract duration is 486 days, and prevailing wages will apply. The bid specifications and plans are only available electronically, and the deadline for submitting questions is October 28, 2024 at 2 pm.

The document does not provide any details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or any other financial information. It focuses on the scope of work, submission requirements, and timeline for the procurement.
