About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for QIAGEN equipment maintenance services across six regional crime laboratories located in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Pensacola, Fort Myers, and Tampa Bay. FDLE is seeking maintenance coverage for 67 QIAGEN instruments currently in operation at these facilities, including QIASymphony, QIAgility HEPA/UV, QIAcube Connect, and EZ1 Advanced XL equipment used for DNA analysis of crime-related specimens. The contract term is three years. The notice was posted on January 14, 2026, with the last day for receipt of information from prospective vendors on February 5, 2026, establishing a statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement period. No bidder conferences or site visits are mentioned in the documentation.
The estimated contract value is $1,400,000.00 to be awarded to QIAGEN, LLC of Germantown, Maryland. FDLE justifies the single source procurement based on the unique and proprietary nature of QIAGEN equipment and supplies, stating that maintenance coverage, implements, and supplies can only be purchased directly from QIAGEN to ensure compatibility with agency-validated equipment and procedures. The agency's history of QIAGEN purchases dates back to 2011, with subsequent acquisitions in 2015, 2018, 2022, and 2024, demonstrating an established operational dependency on QIAGEN products. The contract is administered through FDLE's Central Purchasing office with contact information provided for prospective vendor inquiries.
