About this file
This document is a single source justification posted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for the procurement of laboratory implements and equipment. Pursuant to Florida Statute 943.325, FDLE operates crime laboratories throughout the state with the specific mission of investigating high-profile criminal casework. To accomplish this, FDLE's laboratories use the QIASymphony system and QIAgility liquid handling system, which are validated to work with QIAGEN's EZ1 extraction robot already in place. FDLE is seeking to establish a one-year contract from 7/1/24 to 6/30/25 to purchase the necessary QIAGEN supplies and implements, with the agency estimating a total contract value of $1,700,000.
FDLE has determined that the required QIAGEN products and services can only be obtained through QIAGEN, LLC. This is due to FDLE's prior investment in and validation of the QIAGEN systems, as well as the agency's need for compatibility and continuity with its existing equipment and procedures. As such, FDLE is advertising this intended single source procurement in compliance with Florida Statutes.
