Part 1 – Question
Question:
I am working on putting this quote together and have a question about consumables (Page 1) & (Page 4) discussed in the RFQ.
1. Page 1 requirement: The quantity and therefore the dollar value of the consumables needed would vary depending on the usage of equipment during this time frame. As a solution I could quote based strictly on expiration dates of the consumables. As an example if a consumable, once installed into the system would normally be usable for 21 days then; 180days / 21days = 8.57 – I would quote 9 of these items. Is this acceptable?
2. Page 4 requirement: “Consumables minimums” - Do you want to prepay this minimum quantity for the # of years you opt for a service contract?
Part 2 – Answer
Answer: I think your approach for item 1 and 2 should work.
#2, If the program decides to exercise the option, it would be a modification to the base contract and invoiced at the time of the modification.
