A maintenance schedule for the RFID tags should be established to ensure they are functional and readable throughout their lifespan. The schedule should include regular checks, replacements for damaged tags, and updates for outdated tags. The IDAS will require RFID readers strategically placed throughout the OTR facility to capture data from the RFID tags. These readers should support the same frequency as the tags used and have the capability to read multiple tags simultaneously (multiple reads in a batch). The RFID readers will be connected to the system to transfer data in real-time.
Ethernet connectivity can be used to ensure seamless communication between the readers and the central database. The readers must also be compatible with the inventory management software. The software should allow users to view real-time inventory status, track movements, generate reports, and set up automated alerts for low stock levels, potential loss, or any anomalies.
Integration with ELN The IDAS shall establish bi-directional communication with SciNote [REQUIRED], the FDA lab intranet based ELN. The bi-directional communication should include the following functionalities:
1. Data Synchronization: The system should synchronize inventory data between the IDAS and SciNote to ensure consistency in real-time.
2. Usage Tracking: The IDAS system must receive data from SciNote regarding the usage of inventory items (e.g., chemicals and solvents) for accurate tracking and stock level updates.
Security and Access Control The IDAS must implement robust security measures to protect sensitive inventory data. This includes role-based access control and regular security audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. The following user roles and corresponding permissions should be established:
