About this file

This Addendum 2 document provides clarifications and answers to technical questions submitted by bidders for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's FD-24-038 Aerial Fire Trucks procurement. The addendum addresses specifications for two aerial fire trucks, clarifying key requirements including truck configurations, water tank capacity, foam systems, generator specifications, breathing air systems, pump types, and interior storage solutions. The document confirms that Truck 2 should feature a single-axle 100-foot aerial ladder, Truck 1 will have a 300-gallon water tank, both trucks will be equipped with hydraulic PTO-driven 6-kilowatt generators, and the breathing air system should consist of 6,000-psi dual ASME bottles with one outlet at the turntable and two outlets on the platform.

The addendum clarifies that initial proposal pricing is not final and subject to modification following an Apparatus Committee meeting with the selected vendor to finalize specifications. A small contingency will be included in pricing to accommodate approved change orders to the final specification. Additional specifications confirmed include no specific foam system capacity or flow requirements, acceptance of split shaft or through shaft pumps (pump-and-roll capability is not required), and inclusion of an allowance for shelves, trays, and toolboards to be finalized during vendor coordination. The generator will solely power receptacles, aerial lights, and a single cord reel. These clarifications address critical technical uncertainties and establish a flexible procurement approach allowing post-award specification refinement with the selected vendor.

Addendum 2

TABLE OF CONTENTS

1.0 QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES

FD-24-038 ADDENDUM 2 Page 3

1.0 QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES

1.1 Page 11, 5.0 Appendix A-Specification. Truck 2. Does the fire department desire a single axle or tandem axle 100’ aerial ladder?

Single axle

1.2 Page 11, 5.0 Appendix A-Specification. Truck 1 Water Tank Size. Due to weight limitations, would a 300-gallon water tank be acceptable on the aerial platform?

300 is acceptable

1.3 Page 11, 5.0 Appendix A-Specification. Both Trucks Foam System. Does the Fire Department have a requirement on the capacity and flow of the injected foam system?

No requirement

1.4 Page 11, 5.0 Appendix A-Specification. Both Trucks-Generator. Is there a desire for type of generator, gas/diesel, or PTO hydraulic driven? Also is there a desired size (kilowatt rating) for the generator?

Hydraulic PTO driven/6-Kw

1.5 General Proposal Question. Are the proposals and corresponding pricing on each proposal firm, or will the Fire Department desire to make any changes to the proposal after acceptance of the winning proposals and a final price be updated as necessary prior to issuance of the purchase order? If the pricing is firm, does the Fire Department or Purchasing desire to include a contingency fund for option changes after submission of the proposals and price quote? If so, how much should be included in the proposal pricing?

Pricing for the proposals is not final. The Apparatus Committee will meet with the selected vendor to finalize specification. After specification is finalized, selected vendor will provide final quote. A small contingency will be included to account for approved change orders to final specification.

1.6 Breathing air system:

• What size system are you looking for 4,500-psi or 6,000-psi?

• Single bottle or dual bottles

• Do you want DOT bottles (tested every five years) or ASME bottles (never have to be tested)?

• How many outlets in the platform and/or at the turn table?

6,000 psi; dual bottles; ASME; One outlet at the turntable, two on the platform

1.7 Is the PTO driven pump a must or will a split shaft pump be considered acceptable? Is the truck expected to be used in a pump and roll manner?

FD-24-038 ADDENDUM 2 Page 4

Split shaft or through shaft is acceptable. These trucks won’t need the ability to pump and roll

1.8 Is there a list of shelves, trays or tool boards that should be included on each truck?

There is not a current list of tool boards or shelves. Please build in an allowance for shelves, trays, and toolboards. These will be placed when the specification if finalized with final vendor. If you need them as space fillers for the drawing and/or to quote, just put them in wherever you would like.

1.9 What type of generator are you looking for, hydraulic or diesel powered? What output are you looking for? 6-Kw, 8-Kw etc. What will the generator power? Cord reels outlets in and around the trucks?

Hydraulic powered; 6-kw. Will only be used for receptacles, aerial lights, and cord reel

(should only need one cord reel.)
