About this file

The document details a solicitation (W50S94) by the Department of the Army Rhode Island Army National Guard for Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) Hoses. The procurement involves two specific hose configurations: 11 units of 2-inch x 100-foot armoured dry-break wired-on hoses and 3 units of 2-inch x 10-foot armoured dry-break wired-on hoses, both designed for jet fuel transfer between aircraft.

The hoses must meet stringent technical specifications, including a one-piece construction with high tenacity polyester reinforcement encapsulated in polyurethane, operational temperature range of 58°F to 158°F, high flexibility, abrasion resistance, and bonding wires conforming to MIL-PRF-370 Type C. Key performance characteristics include long-term storage durability, minimal pressure loss, electrical bonding capabilities, and the ability to follow ground contours without pipeline stress. These specialized hoses are intended for military aviation refueling operations, with a design emphasizing maintenance-free, long-life service.

Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) Hoses Salient Characteristics Brand Name or Equal Manufacture number needed

· Quantity 11: ARMOURED 2-inch X 100-foot DRY-BREAK WIRED-ON Hoses designed to transfer Jet Fuel from one Aircraft to another.

· Quantity 3: ARMOURED 2-inch X10-foot DRY-BREAK WIRED-ON Hoses designed to transfer Jet Fuel from one Aircraft to another.

Must meet or equal the following requirements:

· Dry break fitting integral in design

· Designed for long life and maintenance-free service

· Through-the-weave one-piece construction comprising a circular woven high tenacity polyester reinforcement totally encapsulated in a tough elastomeric polyurethane cover and lining

· Durability:

· Long-term storage in coiled configurations will have minimal impact on hose life.

· Abrasion resistance

· High flexibility and kink resistance allowing natural ground contours to be followed without putting stress on the pipeline

· Operator Temperature Range: 58°F to +158°F (-37°C to 70°C), plus/minus 10°F

· A low-pressure loss for efficient pumping. Swells up to 10% above uncharged diameter at maximum operating pressure

· Bonding wires, conforming to MIL-PRF-370 Type C, fitted to allow couplings to be electrically bonded when transferring fuels
