ASTRO DRAFT RFP
Draft Technical Subfactor 1: Modernization and Integration (TO 0003) The Offerer shall provide:
optical, mechanical, electronic, and safety plans to execute the experiment and basic assumptions a projected schedule for integration, alignment, testing, and operations document assumptions, identify technical, cost and schedule risks with mitigation plans, and identify opportunities to provide additional data to mission partners
Example Experiment: Integrate and test a mission partner Laser Detection and Ranging (LADAR) transceiver system to provide ranging to a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite Place LEO satellites into transceiver field of view (FoV) and mission partner computers will store all mission data Targets will consist of multiple approved objects with multiple passes available every night
Basic Assumptions:
LADAR transceiver is a standalone unit that will not be part of the telescope tracking loop Transceiver will consist of a one-micron, class 4 laser and visible camera Experiment may be executed using any AMOS site capabilities without negatively impacting any other site capabilities
Evaluation Factors DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT A: Approved for public release. Distribution is unlimited.
Draft Technical Subfactor 2 – Operations (TO 0001) The Offerer shall provide:
the technical solution, to include the appropriate data products to characterize anomalous behavior to the scenario described below an operations plan and problem solving approach document assumptions
Experiment: AFRL requests assistance in resolving anomalous conditions on their LEO CubeSat (6u-3u). They are experiencing intermittent communication with the satellite and believe it is in a low power state
Basic Assumptions:
Potential uncertainty in the Two Line Element (TLE)s/state vectors Multiple daytime, terminator, and full dark passes are available Experiment may be executed using any AMOS site capabilities without negatively impacting any other site capabilities
