About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation to upgrade an access control system at a Department of the Air Force facility. The solicitation seeks to install a Hirsch Identive Velocity 3.8 FICAM software access control system using Mx series controllers and model #8212ABTR000 card readers to replace existing electronic security hardware on 107 doors. During the discovery process, the locations of the data controllers and number of controllers per building will be identified. The card readers must be adaptable to CAC cards and any future bit format updates. Work will allow for continued facility operations with no more than one day of downtime while transitioning from the existing to new system during phase 3 of reader installation.

Q&A

1) The Statement of Work indicated that there are a total of 149 card readers. The Excel worksheet indicated there are a total of 108 card readers. The totals on the drawings do not match as well.

Apologies, The most accurate total is on the excel sheet which is 107 (Attached)

2) Which card reader total should be used?

Total number of readers is 107 (Attached)

3) Is the existing electronic security hardware on each door (electronic lock, door status contact, REX motion etc.) to be reused or replaced.

We have existing hardware that they will remove then replace with the new readers with existing wiring/mounting. There are a few new readers, but majority are reused

4) If the door hardware is to be replaced we will need to know what hardware is installed on each door.

Install Hirsch Identive Velocity 3.8 FICAM software access control system, on server and two workstation computers using Mx series controller. Model of the readers # 8212ABTR000. All items are brand name or equal.

5) The drawings do not show the locations of the data controllers that the card readers are connected to. Can these locations be identified on the drawings?

This will take place during the Discovery

6) The Excel worksheet does not indicated how many data controllers are in each building.

Can this information be provided?

This will take place during the Discovery

7) What BIT format is to be used for the PIV Class card readers?

The readers are adaptable to the CACs. Whenever new updates happen to the CAC the readers will adapt to the BIT that the CAC is now set at.
