About this file

This requirement document outlines the need for an angular rate and accelerometer calibration workstation to be delivered to the 846th Test Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base. The turnkey workstation must include a PC, keyboard, mouse and monitor with calibration and database software to support dynamic rotation and vibration testing of sensors against NIST-traceable standards. Hardware specifications include a dynamic rotation exciter capable of angular rates up to 5,300 degrees per second, angular acceleration up to 2,500,000 degrees per second squared, and a vibration shaker supporting frequencies from 3 Hz to 20 kHz and accelerations up to 600 m/s^2. The selected contractor must deliver, assemble and provide training on the calibration workstation within 15 weeks of award and provide 2 years of technical support.

Angular Rate Accelerometer Calibration Workstation For

704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron

3 Aug 2023

1.0 Purpose

The 704th Test Group (704 TG) mission is to be the premier provider of unique test and evaluation capabilities relevant to tomorrow’s warfighter through world-class people improving technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and agility. The 846th Test Squadron

(846 TS) is one of the units assigned to the 704 TG. The 846 TS’s primary test capability is the Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) where rocket powered sled trains are utilized to simulate flight-like environments and scenarios with the control and recovery of a ground-based system. Calibrated sensors are requred in order to collect data from these systems. Calibrated sensors are required for test mission validation of various avionics platforms, payloads, and equipment for the Department of Defense in conjunction with its partners over a number of differing rocket sled configurations. Approximately 90% of the sensors used at 846 TS are either angular rate or acceleration based and must be sent out to commercial calibration vendors for each mission. The following requirements are for a new combined angular rate/accelerometer calibration workstation needed at the track.
