Transformer Requirements Document for 704th Test Group/704th TG Det 1
20 March 2023
1.0 PURPOSE
The 704th Test Group’s (704 TG) mission is to be the premier provider of unique test and evaluation capabilities relevant to tomorrow’s warfighter through world-class people improving technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and agility. The National Radar Cross-Section (RCS) Test Facility (NRTF) is assigned to the 704 TG, and provides quality RCS data in a static environment.
The NRTF is building a new capability to perform RCS measurements in a dynamic environment.
This new mission capability will require the purchase of a transformer to power the Radar Support Building (RSB), which is currently under construction.
2.0 SCOPE
The Contractor shall deliver one (1) pad mount transformer to meet the following requirements:
2.1 500 kVA
2.2 3-Phase
2.3 Pad Mount
2.4 High voltage: 24,940 Volts, 125 kV BIL
2.5 Low voltage: 208/120 Volts, 30 kV BIL
2.6 HV Bushings: (6) 25kV 200A Wells & Inserts (dead front loop feed)
2.7 LV Bushings: (4) 4-Hole Spades (Common H0/X0)
2.8 Fluid: mineral oil
2.9 Conductor: copper or aluminum is acceptable
2.10 Fusing: bayonet w/CLFs
2.11 Frequency: 60 Hz
2.12 Temperature Rise: 65°C
2.13 Features & Accessories:
- Drain and sample valve
- Thermometer
- Liquid level gauge
- Pressure relief valve
2.14 Reconditioned or new is acceptable and must be covered with a standard warranty
3.0 MILESTONES
The contractor shall deliver one (1) pad mount transformer no later than 18 Weeks ARO.
4.0 DELIVERABLES
Before delivery, the contractor shall call Megan Olsen (575) 572-0734 or email @ megan.olsen.1@us.af.mil to schedule a delivery date and time. The contractor shall then meet a mailto:megan.olsen.1@us.af.mil
NRTF employee with all equipment and documentation at: 361 Tulie Gate Road, Tularosa, NM 88352, Attn: Megan Olsen, (575) 572-0734 or email @ megan.olsen.1@us.af.mil. The final delivery location is approximately a 1-hour drive west of Tulie Gate Road.
