Question # Question/Comment Government Response
The specs indicate a CA but nothing was indicated – we have currently figured a
0.0625” CA which is somewhat Std for CS PVs. The specs also indicate a min ID of 36” and a Max OD of 43”. We ran the design using SA-350-LF2 material (CS) with the
0.0625” CA and the result is an OD of 45.5” (a 4.75” shell thks). We are not sure which is the limiting design requirement for the Air Dryers – the min ID of 36” or holding the max OD to 43”
Corrosion allowance of 0.0625” is acceptable. The limiting design requirement is the 36” ID of the vessels.
Revisions to the Technical Acceptability Criteria are included in FA9101-22-Q-B041 Combined Synopsis
Solicitation Amend 1.
Appendix B / Design Data – indicates the ambient winter design temp of -10 Deg F – are we to consider this as the minimum design metal temperature (MDMT)?
The -10° F condition is the MDMT.
The specs indicate 100% US sourced – no foreign materials – this would mean the
“Buy American Act” where foreign approved sources could be used cannot be considered for this project. Please confirm.
FAR 52.225-1 is not applicable to this requirement and is removed in Amendment 1. DFARS 252.225-7001 is applicable and is included in the model contract.
