Questions & Answers 150 Hz Model Motor
Q1: On the first page of the NFAC RTA Motor Combined Synopsis Solicitation, under the section listed as Delivery Date, the expected delivery is listed as TEN (10) months after receipt of order (10 MARO).
However, under section 3.2 Schedule of the Technical Specification for 150 Hz Model Motor for the Rotor Test Apparatus it is mentioned that motor shipment shall be no more than FIFTY (50) weeks after receipt of order with complete information.
Can you clarify which of these two delivery schedules you would like to see us follow?
A1: Please use the 50 weeks after receipt of order. Sorry for the confusion.
Q2: For the motor critical speed, can the critical speed be lowered to 20% of max speed (4213 rpm) (rather than 20% of synchronous speed (4500 rpm))?
A2: All operating vibrations must be within required codes and standards in the statement of work.
Q3: Is the speed-torque curve that we provided in the data pack previously acceptable? The spec only says 1500 HP at both 100 Hz and 150 Hz, but it doesn’t say what kind of torque output must be provided below 100 Hz. We assumed variable torque, since they are testing helicopter rotors.
A3: Quotes will be required to comply with section 2 of the statement of work. It was intended to have steady torque to 3000RPM to make 1500HP@3000RPM, and then a decreasing torque to keep
1500HP@4500RPM.
