FA8751-21-Q-0368 Q&As
1. What type of application are these parts to be used on?
These will be used for characterizing photonic circuitry. The feedthroughs will route light through a room temperature flange into a cryostat.
2. What temperature range must they be rated for?
Ideally between room temperature and -25 Celsius or lower.
3. What sort of pressure differential would these parts see during use?
They would be subjected to a 1 atm (14 psi) pressure differential under normal operation.
4. What style/material fitting should the fibers be sealed through?
Stainless steel housing. And either an epoxy-based sealant or ferrule based would be fine.
5. How many fibers need to be in each feedthrough item/design?
One fiber in each feedthrough. The feedthrough should have the specified connectors as well (FC/PC for four of the sm28 feedthroughs and FC/APC for the other 12 (4 sm28, 4 sm630 and 4 sm450) feedthroughs))
