LABOR CATEGORY QUALIFICATIONS

PRINCIPLE/STAFF ENGINEER

Principle/Staff Engineer personnel are those who are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing research and development programs and activities. Requires an advanced degree in engineering, scientific, or systems management discipline. A minimum of 10 years experience of increasing responsibility in the field of Science & Engineering or Computer Science, and personal experience in planning, resource estimation and management as program manager of software research and development and maintenance projects.

SENIOR ENGINEER

Senior Engineers are those whose duties and responsibilities require comprehensive knowledge of complex engineering principles to support complex research and engineering assignments. Requires an advanced degree in engineering or scientific discipline. 5-10 years experience of increasing responsibility in the field of Science & Engineering. Personal experience in planning, resource estimation and management as program manager or assistant manager of software research and development and maintenance projects is advantageous.

SYSTEM ENGINEER

Engineers are those people whose duties and responsibilities require comprehensive knowledge or complex engineering principles to support complex research and engineering and maintenance assignments. Engineers require a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field and a minimum of 5 years experience in the technology of the applicable task area.

PROGRAMMER

Programmers are those personnel whose duties and responsibilities require knowledge of computer science principles to support complex software research and engineering and maintenance assignments. Requires a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience. Experience with current technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture, Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Access Protocol (SOAP) services, as well as underlying COTS architecture of Solaris/Java 2EE/Sybase/etc. is desired.

TECHNICIANS / ADMIN

Technicians are those technical personnel performing work in support of engineering, development and / or maintenance planning. Work typically involves the review and analysis of technical documentation such as specifications, the performance of management functions to control technical documentation and direct inspection of system configuration and equipment. The work typically requires thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of the technical area assigned, including engineering knowledge, as well as the ability to perform a variety of management functions.

ADMINISTRATIVE / CLERICAL

Personnel whose duties include the full range of clerical and administrative functions. Typing, filing, graphics machine operations (computer operations, accounting), printing functions, and editing. This category consists of all the related skills required to process data, organize information, and the results of the analysis.
