Question USG Answer
Is there an incumbent contract/contractor currently performing the same or similar work?
Yes
If an incumbent exists what is the contract number and vendor name?
FA8638-19-D-0001; Northrop Grumman
Is this a new requirement? The acquisition strategy has not yet been determined.
Market research results will assist the Air Force in determining the specific acquisition strategy to be utilized in the event the USAF elects to acquire the items described in the announcement.
Under the list of typical types one did include large AC ( c-5, KC- 46 etc) yet at the same list there are CH-147 (?), Challenger (?)
and even GS C-37. Was this intentional?
If so, needless to say the DIRCM solution (type) will be varied from one platform to another. Is that ok?
The platforms listed were intended to show the typical platform types that utilize the DIRCM capability. Some platforms have fulfilled their requirements and other are upgrading based on their individual requirements.
The solution will be one configuration for all platforms. The system may/may not require software/hardware updates when it is installed on individual platform. The hardware solution (i.e. number of sensors, number of turrets) is tailored to the requirements for a particular aircraft platform. This approach attempts to utilize a common software solution for all DIRCM systems that support plug-and-play and straightforward installation for all required LRUs
