About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the purchase of a fast-scanning VSR Mid/Near IR Spectroradiometer. The key requirements include:
- Fast-scanning Mid IR Spectroradiometer with scanning optical velocity of 23 cm/sec (82 scans/sec at 16 cm-1 resolution), liquid nitrogen cooled InSb and MCT detectors, and multiple input telescopes with adjustable fields of view.
- The system is required to support numerous physics and optical engineering courses at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
- The contractor shall deliver the system and provide installation and training at AFIT within 6 weeks of contract award. The system shall be free from defects for 2 years after delivery.
- Payment will be 100% upon completion of all SOW requirements on a net 30 basis. The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation for a "Versatile Spectro-Radiometer" issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Versatile Spectro-Radiometer 20 Nov 2024
1.0. BACKGROUND: The fast-scanning VSR Mid/Near IR spectroradiometer is an advanced spectrometer capable of collecting extremely high resolution spectra in both laboratory and field conditions across a broad spectrum light ranging from near infrared to long-wave infrared at very high scan rates. This capability allows you to directly monitor real time spectral changes in targets of interest allowing for the rapid characterization of the chemical composition of these targets, often at significant ranges. These signatures can be used to extract information from remote targets which provide critical data to numerous DoD technical intelligence organizations. Familiarity with these systems and their capabilities is a crucial skill required of any AFIT Engineering physics students. As a result, this system represents a replacement for similar system used in ENP laboratory classes for the last 20 years that recently failed. This system directly supports over a dozen courses in both Optical Engineering and the Applied physics program by providing a mechanism to explore the practical application of skills learned in these programs. VSR provides a unique capability to support teaching activities in a variety of AFIT's Physics and Optical engineering classes including, PHYS-542, OENG-780, OENG-651, OENG-650, OENG-533, OENG-530, OENG-647, OENG 616L, PHY521, METG-644, PHYS-799, and PHYS-999.PHYS-542, OENG-780, OENG-651, OENG-650, OENG-533, OENG-530, OENG-647, OENG 616L, PHY521, METG-644, PHYS-799, and PHYS-999.
