About this file
This is a Questions and Answers Document issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) on 15 July 2026 regarding a panel system furniture procurement. The document does not address specific products or services required, response dates, award dates, pricing terms, or set asides. Instead, it clarifies technical specifications and requirements based on vendor inquiries.
Key clarifications provided include: no specific manufacturer is designated for the panel system, though equivalent manufacturers are acceptable; the panel system must exceed 2 inches in thickness and be half-height (open beneath the worksurface) to allow access to wall outlets; full-height panels extending to the floor are not acceptable; wall mounting is prohibited for standalone workstations; the "spin-out pencil drawer" is defined as an accessory drawer storing small items beneath the worksurface; beltline power refers to electrical and data outlets positioned above the worksurface with power routed internally through the panel's spine from a base feed or ceiling power pole; equivalent products to Fellowes-referenced items are acceptable; and per the Statement of Work, the contractor must provide 2D floor plans and 3D renderings of each typical configuration as part of the quotation submission without allowance for additional time beyond standard bidding deadlines.

Question: Has a specific manufacturer been designated for the panel system? If so, please identify the approved manufacturer.
Answer: No, a specific manufacturer has not been designated for the panel system.
Question: Our maximum available panel thickness is 2 inches. Is this acceptable?
Answer: No, 2” panel system is not acceptable.
Question: We do not offer half-height panels that are open beneath the worksurface; all of our panels extend to the floor. Would this configuration be acceptable?
Answer: A full height panel is not acceptable and would not allow access to the wall outlets.
Question: For the single standalone workstation, the available alternative would be to leave the front open and use wall-mounted brackets to support the open metal shelf. Would this be acceptable?
Answer: No. Wall mounting is not allowed in this space.
Question: Could you please clarify the requirement for a "spin-out pencil drawer"?
Answer: An accessory drawer that stores small items underneath the worksurface for easy access.

Question: Regarding the beltline above the worksurface with 3 duplex receptacles, 6 power outlets, and 1 data/voice knockout, please clarify whether the requirement is:
Answer: A continuous power strip mounted above the worksurface, or No
Answer: A surface-mounted power module integrated into the worksurface. No
Answer: In panel system furniture, beltline power refers to electrical and data outlets that are positioned directly above the worksurface rather than at the base of the panel. Internal Routing: Power is still brought into the workstation from the building via a base feed (at the floor) or a ceiling power pole, but it is routed internally up through the panel's spine to the beltline level.
Question: The specifications reference Fellowes products. Would equivalent products from another manufacturer be considered acceptable?
Answer: Yes, and equivalent manufacturer is acceptable
Question: Please note that manufacturer-generated drawings require approximately 7–10 business days to produce. If manufacturer drawings are required with the quotation, would the Government consider allowing additional time for submission?
Answer: Per the SOW “The Contractor shall provide their 2D Floor Plan and 3D Renderings of each typical”.
