About this file

This document is a Vendor Questions and Government Answers file for the Westmatic Carwash Rail Upgrade federal contract (Solicitation Number FA860125Q0070). The document clarifies three key points about the procurement: (1) this is a "Brand Name" requirement for a Rail Upgrade to an existing Westmatic Carwash, with the government seeking Prime Vendors to subcontract work to Westmatic Corp, (2) the rail is a floor-mounted system that the wash system rides on, and (3) it is not an electrification rail but a mechanical support/guide rail. The questions and answers provide technical clarification for potential vendors about the specific nature of the rail upgrade being solicited by the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

FA860125Q0070 – Westmatic Carwash Rail Upgrade

Vendor Questions and Government Answers

1. Question: What it is that you are looking to have quoted.

Government Answer: This is a “Brand Name” requirement for a Rail Upgrade to an existing installed Westmatic Carwash. This requirement is to be fulfilled by Westmatic Corp but they cannot fulfill it as the Prime Vendor. We are soliciting Prime Vendors to subcontract the work to Westmatic Corp.

2. Question: Is the crane rail system intended to be a “hot rail”, or is it purely a mechanical support/guide rail with no live electrical components?

Government Answer: It is a floor mounted rail the wash system rides on.

3. Question: What type of rail is this? Is it a rail that the system rides on or is it the electrification rail? Government Answer: Rail the system rides on.
