SOLICITATION FA8601-23-Q-0025

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. QUESTION 1: In order to determine the necessary accessories, can you please share the use case? Will the camera be deployed in the lab, field (tripod), mast mounted, ROV, UAV/drone, airplane, other?

a. This camera will be used in the lab and in the field mounted on a tripod.

2. QUESTION 2: Regarding the min tech spec #7 - NEDT is specified; however, in the 1-

2.5 micron wavelength range, noise equivalent spectral radiance (NESR) is the normal specification. Can you confirm that radiance and not temperature is an acceptable spec to provide? If so, what is the spec for NESR we must meet?

a. We would rather have radiance not temperature

3. QUESTION 3: Regarding the min tech spec #13 - for these type of systems, data will never be transferred over RS232. Our systems have data transfer over cameralink with communication happening over RS232. Can you please confirm if I am interpreting this spec correctly?

a. Yes you are correct. Camerlink for data transfer and RS232 for camera control is acceptable.

4. QUESTION 4: Requirement #11 (Temperature stabilized with a Thermo-electric (TE) Cooler and not liquid nitrogen) Does it have to be Thermo-electric coupled cooling or can it be Sterling cooling?

a. Stirling cooling is acceptable.

5. QUESTION 5: Requirement #3 (Spectral resolution FWHM: =15 nm) Did they mean less than instead of greater than?

a. We meant to say a FWHM less than or equal to 15 nm.

6. QUESTION 6: Requirement #4 (Videos with a Full Frame rate = 300 frames per second or Hz) - is worded in such a way that it seems like a 2D+spectra camera is wanted, instead of a push-broom, because of the wording "Full Frame rate". Can you please confirm that a pushbroom (line-scan) camera is what is needed.

a. Either a 2D+spectra camera or a pushbroom camera is acceptable.

7. QUESTION 7: Requirement #13 (Data output: RS-232 and/or USB compatible) - Is a CameraLink connection acceptable?

a. CameraLink is acceptable.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CONTINUED

8. QUESTION 8: Not mentioned in the requirements, but is installation and training needed? If so, in person or online?

a. Installation is probably not needed, unless the system has multiple components with significant assembly. Training is needed and on-line is acceptable.

9. QUESTION 9: What is the required field of view in degrees?

a. We require options for a "standard" full field of view around 40 degrees and a telephoto full field of view of around 25 degrees. An additional telephoto full field of view of around 25, and/or a wide angle full field of view of 60 degrees is preferred.

10. QUESTION 10: What is the intended working distance?

a. The working distance ranges from 3 m to infinity.
