QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question 1: Paragraph 2.10 requires a Precision Optical Locater. There are two common waterjet location devices:
Option A: A “laser” pointer/edge finder that some suppliers claim to be equivalent to an
Optical Locator however, it possesses no optics or ability to measure and feed feature data back to the control, to be saved for future use.
Option B: An Optical Locator, that by definition contains a high-resolution camera that can zoom in on material features and very accurately locate and select points. The video image can be saved for quality control records. Due to the feedback capability, Optical Locators can quickly measure points and features as well as locate them, without the operator leaving the machine’s control.
Which Locating device do you require?
ANSWER: Option B.
Question 2: Will the contractor be responsible for disconnecting the electrical on the existing waterjet system for removal?
ANSWER: No.
Question 3: Will the contractor be responsible for draining the catcher tank of water, removing the spent garnet and disassembling the existing waterjet system for removal?
Question 4: Will the contractor be responsible for connecting the electrical on the new waterjet system?
Question 5: Please clarify the items that will be included with the trade-in Maxiem 1515. It should include the following: a) jet cutting head; b) Material Holding Kit; c) 600 lb abrasive feed hopper; d) Air & Water Conditioning kit (located on wall); and e) Terrain Follower.
ANSWER:
a. Yes.
b. No.
c. No.
d. Yes, if it is not compatible with new machine.
e. Yes, but it does not work.
