3.1.1.2 States, “All postage metering equipment and software shall be USPS compliant and have the ability to accept GSA Schedule 48 pricing”.
Question: Is the government requiring that the postage meter solutions have GSA Schedule 48 rates for the government to take advantage of the lowest possible rates available? Yes, we would want the lowest cost available to the government.
Question: Is it a requirement of the Government that the vendor provide any hardware (including label printer and/or computer) to generate and print IMpb compliant shipping labels for the government to take advantage of the GSA Schedule 48 rates? Yes, we need to print IMpB labels in order to get the GSA Schedule 48 pricing.
3.1.1.4 and 3.1.1.6.1 both have requirement to process mail up to a specified rates speed for a range of envelope sizes.
Question: Will the government please confirm the rated speeds are defined using the industry standard #10 size envelope in batch mode processing like weight mail?
Machines will need to process mixed envelope sizes at the specified rates speed.
3.1.1.9 Requires the vendor provide a keyboard and mouse for each mail solution.
Question: Will the Government please confirm the keyboard and mouse is only to be used with an attached PC and not with the mail machine. Yes, the government can confirm that the keyboard and mouse will only be used for the PC.
3.1.1.10 All postage metering equipment and software mut be capable of processing multiple batches of mail at one time while applying billing to 100+ different accounts.
Question: Will the government please define the total number of accounts needed as a whole number or establish a maximum number? 150 this will give us room to add accounts as necessary.
Current newly manufactured equipment must communicate with the USPS via the cloud and the US Air Force requires this to be done via a commercial ISP provided by the Official Mail Center.
Question: Will the Government please confirm the mail solutions provided communicate in a FedRAMP environment to meet the minimum government security requirements to protect input information? Vendor should certify their mail solutions meet the FedRamp specifactions.
