Questions and Answers Document
1. What wavelengths will the customer be working with?
Operation is required from 250 nm to 1,100 nm.
2. Is the end user looking for a conventional detector or an Intensified/Gated camera?
The Government is looking for a low noise, high speed CCD with cooling to -100 C, at least 75% QE, and a dark current of 0.0015 electrons/pixel/second, 16 bit resolution per pixel.
3. What are the required sample rate and exposure times required?
A fast transfer rate (readout rates of at least 16 MHz) or better, the Government can't speak to the integration times, but some of our tests have very low signal.
4. 7 Gratings were listed, how does the end user prefer that these gratings be grouped on a per turret basis?
The Government would like turrets, the Government is open to convenient groupings.
5. For the entrance fiber couplers, what fiber connector types are required?
The Government has not purchased the fibers yet, the Government assumes multi-mode fibers will be used (SMA), but if manufacturers would like to recommend a type of fiber coupling, the Government is open to the style that gives us the highest signal throughput to the spectrometer possible.
