Minimum Requirements For Band Saw

1.0 GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The required band saw shall have a head carriage guided on heavy duty linear rails ensuring rigid and precise head travel resulting in an accurate and smooth cutting action. The machine base is designed and produced with electro-welded steel components for maximum rigidity and support.

The high quality cast-iron hardened wheels with heavy-duty wheel and gearbox shaft bearings will support student thesis research.

2.0 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

2.1 Shall meet the following basic system requirements:

1. Two full stroking front mount hydraulic vises

2. Optional left or right side control panel controls cannot be mounted on front of the machine where operator loads and unloads parts.

3. Blade breakage switch or break sensing capability.

4. Hydraulic band tensioning with digital readout.

5. Replaceable carbide guide inserts.

6. Blade drive minimum of 5HP

7. A coolant tank with no less than 6 gallons and no more than 12 gallons in volume.

8. Maximum dimensions 36” W x 95” L x 96” H to meet current space requirements

9. Mitering capability of 60° left to 60° right to meet current capacity.

10. Required Safety door interlocks when changing blades.

11. Laser light or equivalent for lining up cuts.

12. Flood coolant capability can be aftermarket but installed by vendor

13. Work light suitable for use in areas where coolant is used.

14. 0.5 HP hydraulic pump or greater, HP required for cutting hard materials.

15. Ability to utilize incoming power of 208V 3phase.

16. Energy efficient hydraulics.

17. Chip bucket.

18. 5’ manual Idler conveyor

19. Coolant drip pan and filler plates for 5’ conveyor to support material longer than 6’

20. Tall square vise inserts.

21. Variable vise pressure required for both vises.

22. Minimum Cutting capacity Rectangular 22” H x 18” W, Round 17.5”

23. Base machine weight cannot exceed 3,000 LB due to Shop floor weight requirements.

24. Remove old equipment and provide credit for fair trade in value of following:

a. DoAll Band Saw

b. Model# 3613-20

c. Serial# 399-90693

d. 208V

25. Provide manufacturer suggested preventative maintenance schedule and any related preventative maintenance for the period of at least one year.

26. Shall include a Controller that:

a. allows operator to change from 0 to +60 or -60 degrees angle.

b. allows operator to adjust feed force and clamping pressures.

c. is offset for operator safety when loading and unloading parts.

2.2 Delivery and training:

1. The customer shall receive all components within 180 days after contract award.

2. This item intentionally left blank.

3. Contractor shall provide all necessary training for hardware to a minimum of two personnel.

3.0 WARRANTY:

1. Free from defects in material and workmanship under normal and proper use in accordance with the maintenance manual, for the period of time of at least one year after receipt.

4.0 INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE:

This section intentionally left blank.

5.0 DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS:

This section intentionally left blank.

6.0 INVOICE AND PAYMENT:

The contractor shall be paid upon submission of a properly prepared invoice and after final inspection and acceptance has been made. A proper invoice shall cite the contractor’s name and address, invoice number, invoice date, order number, contract line item number (CLIN), description of the supplies or service, unit of issue, unit price and extended price, terms of any prompt payment discount offered, and who to notify in the event the invoice is defective. The invoice shall be submitted to:

The contractor shall submit invoice in wide area work flow (WAWF) as shown in this order schedule.

7.0 DELIVERY PROCEDURES COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

All vehicles larger than a large pick-up truck are required to be inspected by the Wright- Patterson Air Force Base Commercial Vehicle Delivery Gate (CVDG) prior to entering the installation. Vehicles to be inspected include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Step van/panel truck

2. Tractor/trailer, box and flatbed containing cargo

3. Tanker trucks

4. Box trucks

5. Tour buses

6. Garbage/recycled waste trucks

7. Concrete trucks/mixers, dump trucks

8. Cranes, recreational vehicles, petroleum tanker

This inspection will be conducted at Gate 16A located off State Route 444.

The following are exemptions to vehicles utilizing the CVDG:

1. If the vehicle has the product inside (concrete and asphalt trucks) and timely delivery is necessary due to product deterioration it does not need to enter the CVDG. To bypass the CVDG, the contractor shall submit a list containing drivers’ names, social security numbers and the state in which the driver's license is held for those drivers who will be entering the base. This shall be accomplished 24 hours prior to requested entry time. If entry is requested on Monday, this list shall be submitted by Friday at 1630 hours. All lists shall be submitted to the 88th ABW/CE Directorate contract inspector. The only gates that may be used under this exemption shall be 15A, 26A, 38A, and gate 1B. If the driver's name is not on the list, he/she will not be allowed access to the installation through these gates and the base will not assume liability for denied access.

2. If a delivery vehicle shall exit, and then re-enter the base to complete its route, the vehicle shall be resealed upon exiting the base. After initially passing through the commercial vehicle delivery gate, trucks shall be resealed at Gates 15A, 38A and 22B. The resealing of the trucks will allow them to continue to any other area of the installation (Areas A, B, or Kittyhawk) without reprocessing through the CVDG. To receive resealing assistance, the drivers shall physically stop at one of the three authorized gates and request the installation entry controller to reseal their truck and provide the next location of their delivery. The controller will reseal the truck and give the delivery driver a pre-clearance form. The driver shall present the pre-clearance form to the entry controller at the next point of installation entry. This reentry can be through any base gate.

3. Vehicles may be subject to an inspection at any of installation entry control points during a directed random antiterrorism measure (RAM.) Any commercial vehicle, regardless of size, can be directed to the CVDG at the discretion of the installation entry controller.
