DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: This specification lists the requirements for a firm fixed price contract to upgrade our vacuum capability for driving emissions samples to our gas analyzers, restore existing analyzers to factory calibration accuracy standards, and provide documentation and technical drawings for modifications to the existing system. AFIT has an existing California Analytics Instruments (CAI) emissions analyzer: Model Number 100927-1. This consists of existing analyzers: CAI 300S-HFID (S/N P10009); CAI 400S-HCLD (S/N P10010); and CAI 300-CO2/CO/O2 (S/N P09022). The emissions sample is delivered by a single head vacuum pump (Metal Bellows sample pump (model MB158HT)) with a 0.25 hp motor. This emission sampling system will be used in a combustion laboratory in an educational environment for Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT)’s master’s students to learn and measure emissions from various combustor designs.
REQUIREMENT
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Performance period for this contract will be no more than 90 days from the date of award.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
The contractor shall preform the removal of the current Metal Bellows Sample Pump.
The contractor shall provide and install a KNF Single Heated Head Sample Pump (model N036ST.11E.I) capable of delivering -8 psig when connected to AFIT’s emissions probe which has a .036 inch (.957 mm) opening delivering a positive flow rate through the emissions analyzers. Comment by Marc: I found out that the previous model was discontinued in lieu of this model.
The contractor shall install heated head through oven wall of the existing system.
The contractor shall install all electrical and mechanical components necessary for the operation of the KNF Single Heated Head Sample Pump to the existing system.
The contractor shall refurbish existing analytical equipment to factory standards including: CAI 300S-HFID (S/N P10009), CAI 400S-HCLD (S/N P10010), CAI 300-CO2/CO/O2 (S/N P09022).
The contractor shall recalibrate existing analytical equipment to factory standards including: CAI 300S-HFID (S/N P10009), CAI 400S-HCLD (S/N P10010), CAI 300-CO2/CO/O2 (S/N P09022).
The contractor shall provide revision of engineering documentation of equipment affected by the upgrade, including but not limited to flow and wiring diagrams.
The contractor shall provide delivery of all new, refurbished, and recalibrated components to AFIT.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Contractor personnel may include, but is not limited to, field service engineers, electricians, and any other personnel required to support services and equipment of AFIT’s emission testing system.
Contracted personnel shall possess the qualifications and training in accordance with current practices of installation and maintenance of emission testing and supporting equipment. Additionally, contractor personnel will be trained on diagnostic applications of both the new and existing emission testing equipment.
SERVICES SUMMARY: Comment by SMITH, ROBIN A USAF AFMC AFLCMC/PZIOA: The first three columns of the PWS Services Summary Chart for each Objective needs to match the first three columns in the QASP Services Summary Chart.
