BILL OF MATERIALS

Requirement: Digital Microscope, Self Contained Portable Unit

Quantity: 1 each (System)

Specifications: -System must allow a wide range of microscopic observation from macro-scale stereoscopic imaging to the detailed analysis of a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). System capability should support transmitted light observation, polarized light observation and differential interference observation. . A DVD Super-multi drive unit utilizing CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+-R/DVD+-R DL/DVD+_RW/DVD-RAM shall be incorporated. The hard disk drive unit should have a storage capacity of 4.7GB, at a minimum. -System functions (Observation, Measurement and Recording) shall be integrated into a single, portable unit (no external PC required) for usage in multiple scenarios in order to meet this requirement.

-The ability to accurately observe the surface topography of a target with large peaks and valleys is critical. A hand-held observation capability in addition to a stand-mounted observation system is desired. Super high resolution observation is absolutely critical to our needs. The system camera should have the capacity to capture images of up to 2 million pixels. A flicker-free progressive scan method that would allow texture expression and color reproduction similar to observations of the naked eye is desired.

-A camera-shake correction function eliminating the influence of vibration is critical for high-magnification observation requirements. The camera systems should utilize a frame rate of 15 frames per second (fps) for excellent tracking, magnification changes and focal adjustments to be performed easily.

-Required camera lens options would include a wide-view zoom lens with a magnification rate of 0x to 50x. Camera lens attachment should be by standard bayonet- attachment, with the capability to add on polarizing and diffusing light filter attachments.

-Observed images must be easily recordable on-site using an integrated, high-capacity 500GB HDD (at a minimum), and the system should ensure stress-free handling of high- volume images. Quick image search capability by file name, titles, organization names, lenses and magnifications previously used along with input comments, is desired.

-A video record/re-play function that can accurately and completely record chronological changes and subtle movements of the target is desired. Data storage capacity should allow for images to be recorded for up to one hour, at up to 28 frames per second. Additional features should include fast forward, frame advancement, and still image capture feature from the video. The video should be recordable as an AVI file and allow for replay/viewing on a computer.

-Time capture function for lengthy unattended observation is desired. Images should be automatically saved based on a time functions chosen by the operator. A LAN function should be incorporated to allow for remote viewing of capture images which could be sent to other users or computers. An integral light feature for observation periods should automatically turn-off between image captures as energy and bulb life time savings feature.

-System should have a PC mode allowing for the installation of Microsoft Word or Excel programs onto the microscope unit, thus allowing for preparation of on-site reports immediately after observation or image capture occurs. Systems should also allow for the installation of the most current versions of anti-virus software programs.

-System should allow for installation of software programs offering a wide range of on- screen, real-time measurements for a minimum of 13 measurements (i.e. distance; radius; center-distance; x, y and diagonal distance; area, count, auto measurement, distance between parallel lines, length of perpendicular line, angle and overlay scales). Systems should incorporate auto-calibration measures; edge selection to reduce human error; multi-point input-edge line determinations should be made using the least squares method to ensure accurate measurement results, and a high-resolution dimensional measurement capability-where measurement points can be specified on a large image (4800 x 3600 pixels or better) to improve the accuracy of dimension measurement is desired.

-System functions (Observation, Measurement and Recording) should be integrated into a single, portable unit for usage in multiple scenarios. This unit shall have an integral Color LCD monitor (17-inch or larger) high-resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels WUXGA, minimum) and a high capacity HDD of a 500GB storage capacity (minimum). Image format should be JPEG/HD (with compression) or TIFF (without compression). A DVD Super-multi drive unit utilizing CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+-R/DVD+-R DL/DVD+- RW/DVD-RAM shall be included. The storage drive unit shall have a storage capacity of 4.7GB, at a minimum.

-System should be able to support USB Mouse and USB Keyboards. External remote input would allow for Pause/Recording with non-voltage input. System shall interface with a LAN (i.e. RJ-45 (10BASE-T/100BASE-T/1000BASE-T) with a minimum of eight (8) USB 2.0 Series A ports.

-System power-supply voltage should be 100 to 240VAC, 50/60 Hz. System should be able to withstand an operating environment of 5* to 40*C (41*F to 104*F) and 35 % to 80% relative humidity with no condensation

-System should include a free-angle XY stage/stand with a manual Z-axis stage to allow for high- resolution observation from any angle. .

-The system should incorporate various controller functions, such as:

- depth composition

- 3D illumination simulation

- 3D two-screen simultaneous comparison ability

- real-time digital zoom

- lighting shift (full, partial, and flanking illumination modes)

- electronic preview of images (listing best image mode to select the optimal image)

- optimal contrast ability

- glare removal

- vivid & sharp image mode

- edge enhancement

- camera-shake correcting

- split image

- moving image recording & reproduction

- timer recording function

- extra/side album storage ability

- observable condition reproduction ability

- sensitivity quick adjustment dial (i.e. shutter speed and camera gain can be adjusted)

-The system shall allow for double recognition of target images along with a measuring function, such as distance, angle, radius, area, etc (all previously mentioned above) and incorporate one-click auto-measurement. Other highly desirable functions include: automatic count/measurement, and a scale display. The system should also incorporate automatic calibration capabilities; a measurement point replacement function; a measurement free ability, and a specific dimension display ability for 2D and 3D image capturing.

-All associated software and necessary hardware to provide the requirements/functions stated above should be incorporated in the overall quote. All related shipping, handling, and any other additional related costs should also be incorporated into the quote for delivery to:
