About this file
This document is a Market Research Survey for the 463L Air Cargo Pallet, aimed at identifying potential manufacturers for the United States Air Force and other federal agencies. The survey seeks contractors capable of producing 1,583 pallets per month, with a total projected requirement of 114,000 pallets over a 6-year contract period. The 463L pallet is a specialized air transport asset measuring 88"x108"x2.25", weighing 300 lbs or less, composed of aluminum skins with a balsa wood core, and used across military aircraft including C-5, C-17, C-130, and KC-46.
The market research solicits detailed information from potential contractors, including business capabilities, manufacturing processes, quality assurance practices, production capacities, and technical expertise. Responses are requested by 13 June 2025 and should be submitted to Wesley Hardy or Tim Hudson via email. The government is specifically interested in contractors' abilities to meet military specifications (MIL-DTL-27443H), handle material procurement, manage adhesive bonding processes, and demonstrate experience with similar complex manufacturing requirements. Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate, with joint ventures and teaming arrangements specifically welcomed.
