REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
PRODUCTION OF NP2000 PROPELLER COMPONENTS
PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION:
The United States Air Force (UASF) is transitioning from a four-blade propeller to a new eight-blade propeller (NP2000) propeller design for several of the special mission aircraft operated by the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve Command.
The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements to produce, inspect, test, train and upgrade components required to build the NP2000 System.
This request is for planning purposes/market research only, and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, offers, bids, and/or quotes. This notice is not a confirmation that the Government will contract any contractor for the items contained in this Request for Information (RFI) and does not serve as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract. The Government shall not pay and/or reimburse respondents and/or their associates for any costs incurred to submit the requested information. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
Should you desire to participate in the market research, provide a written response that supports your company’s capability in meeting these requirements. Failure to provide documentation may result in the government being unable to adequately assess your capabilities. If you lack sufficient experience in a particular area, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.)
Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this Market Research. Joint ventures or teaming arrangements are encouraged.
The incumbent contractor is Collins Aerospace (formerly UTC Aerospace Systems) in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Collins Aerospace currently holds proprietary data required for production of the eight-blade propeller NP2000 System. The Government does not own or have access to the data for this system.
