About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for Fire Door Inspection Services solicitation FA850125Q0055 issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center. The solicitation requires annual testing and inspection of 80 overhead fire doors located at Robins AFB, specifically 40 doors owned by the 78 ABW and partnered organizations, and 40 doors owned by the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center. The doors range in size from 3x3 to 16x20 and are overhead rollup doors (Atlas, Cookson, Rayner) with fuse links.

The RFQ is structured as a full and open competition under NAICS 561621 with a $25,000,000 size standard, seeking the lowest firm fixed price that meets technical requirements. The estimated contract value is $150,000 over five years, with quotes due by 1700 EDT on 23 July 2025. Contractors must provide a narrative demonstrating financial capability and may be subject to pre-award surveys by DCMA. Interested vendors must submit completed representations and certifications, with all doors to be tested by qualified personnel in accordance with NFPA standards. The solicitation allows for repair estimates, with the government deciding whether to proceed with repairs after receiving contractor recommendations.

1Can you please let us know exactly what type of doors we’ll be testing(man double doors or rolling fire doors), if possible to provide some pictures of the doors that will be much appreciated.11-Jul-25Doors are overhead rollup doors. (Atlas, Cookson, Rayner)18-Jul-25
2I didn’t see anything in the documents about a site visit or pre-bid. Is there one? If so, is it mandatory?10-Jul-25Site visits may be scheduled if needed but are not mandatory18-Jul-25
3Solicitation requires repair of all doors, at time of inspection (except full door replacement). Door parts are often custom ordered, and the make and model of the parts can significantly impact the price. How is the contractor to address custom orders, or pricing on replacement parts that are custom and specific to the manufacturer of the door, not knowing make and model?10-Jul-25Statement of work reads contractor will provide estimate on any repairs or replacement and CE will decide to move forward with repairs or not.18-Jul-25
4We are interested in bidding for this project, and to properly put together our offer, we would like if you can provide us with the door’s heights specification. This information will be very helpful in terms of safety and compliance.15-Jul-25Over head doors range from 3x3 smallest up to 16x20. All are overhead doors with fuse link.18-Jul-25
