About this file

This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for Cadmium Plating Services issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center. The synopsis seeks to determine potential sources for specialized cadmium brush plating services for Minuteman III Launch Facility (LF) and Launch Control Center (LCC) motor generators, with an annual requirement to overhaul at least 11 LFs and 4 LCCs. The government is interested in small businesses, including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns, with the NAICS code 332813 and a size standard of 500 employees.

Interested companies are requested to provide specific response details by 02 April 2025 at 11:59pm MST, including company name, CAGE code, point of contact information, small business status, and SAM registration. The cadmium plating process is critical for corrosion protection, electrical conductivity, and meeting nuclear hardness bonding and grounding requirements in the Minuteman Weapon System. Responses should be emailed to Michael Checketts and Merrick Flygare, with a draft Statement of Work available for review. This is a market research effort to determine acquisition strategy, and the government is not financially obligated to compensate companies for their response.
