1 DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT

This product description covers the design and fabrication of conforming lead anodes to be used in plating operations at 309 CMXG at Hill Air Force Base. The contractor shall use the

Government engineering drawings in fabrication of anodes unless otherwise approved. If the contractor has similar anodes, the contractor shall provide engineering drawings to the

Government for approval before fabrication of the anodes.

Fabrication of anodes to be used in AMS 2460 and MIL-STD-1501 chrome plating operations at

Hill AFB, UT. Section 2.1, Table 1 below gives an overview of the parts, features, anode drawing numbers, and number of anodes to be fabricated. It also indicates whether or not the

Government will provide the mold to the contractor for anode fabrication purposes:

2 FABRICATION SPECIFCATIONS

2.1 Table 1: Anode List 11-7-2019

2.1.1 6-8% Antimony lead alloy required for all anodes per MIL-STD-1501.

2.1.2 Anodes must be able to meet AMS 2460 and MIL-STD 1501 chrome plating standards.

2.1.3 The contractor shall use the provided government engineering drawings in fabrication of anodes unless otherwise approved by the Government 532 CMMXS Engineer.

Deviations from flame spray, plastisol, or other requirements on anodes are allowed.

Provide brief explanation of alternative lead adhesion approach.

2.1.4 The contractor shall obtain Government POC approval before an anode is fabricated by an alternative approach.

2.1.5 All labor, fabrication material, crating and shipping shall be included.

3 BASIC SERVICES

3.1 The contractor shall provide the manufacturing engineering drawings of the anodes to the Government 532 CMMXS Engineer for approval prior to fabrication, unless

Government engineering drawings are used (CDRL A001).

3.2 After drawings are approved by Government 532 CMMXS Engineer, the contractor shall fabricate the anodes in accordance with the approved drawings.
