309 COMMODITIES MAINTENANCE SQUADRON (CMXG)
3/15/2018
1.0 Scope
The 309th CMXG has a requirement for one additional NCSIMUL floating License and the incidental maintenance with probing option of two NCSIMUL licenses for utilization of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software from Spring
Technologies. This requirement will be for one (1) Base Year and four (4) option years.
2.0 Description
2.1 One NCSIMUL software license CNC milling machine and annual software maintenance with probing option for two floating licenses.
2.2 The software maintenance shall be provided through call center and web support via email and compact disc (CD). Maintenance Support shall provide for license updates, software updates, STEP file import, Tool length optimization, model export, comparison tool, G-code verification, CAM interface updates, and virtual machine configuration.
2.3 Software Installation shall be performed by local technical Government personnel.
2.4 All service and maintenance requested is to be provided by Spring Technologies.
2.5 Any media or materials shall be sent FOB destination.
2.6 All software description and accessories listed below in Table 1.
CLIN Description
0001 Year Maintenance for 2 licenses, 1 NX, and 1 NCDOC
0002 One Additional License
1001 Year Maintenance for 2 licenses, 1 NX, and 1 NCDOC
2001 Year Maintenance for 2 licenses, 1 NX, and 1 NCDOC
3001 Year Maintenance for 2 licenses, 1 NX, and 1 NCDOC
4001 Year Maintenance for 2 licenses, 1 NX, and 1 NCDOC
3.0 Requirements
The software must address each of the following 19 parameters. The characteristics of the software must meet, and may exceed any of the minimums, and not exceed specifications listed as maximums. The CNC Verification Software shall verify CNC Programs using only the actual “G-Code” text file (CNC program file) created from our currently owned post-processor software (Post Processors.net and ICAM). The simulation software shall not require new post processors in order for the CNC verification software to work properly.
1. The CNC verification software shall run on Windows® 7 or later operating system, and
Windows® based computers and networks. It shall reside on a network server and be accessible via. 2 floating software licenses.
2. The CNC verification software shall verify a CNC program file completely independent of any post processor and Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Machining
(CAD/CAM) software. The verification software shall not rely on internal CAD/CAM commands or functionality, or depend on “APT” or “.cls” files in order to verify a program.
The CNC verification software shall be able to verify a G-Code CNC program file regardless of where it came from and cannot rely on any software other than the CNC verification software itself in order to verify a CNC program.
3. Shall work with our current CAD/CAM programming software, which is: Siemens™
(Unigraphics) NX, version 10.0.0 or later, using a software interface that automatically aligns the stock, and design models in the correct location within the machine model using pre-specified coordinate systems.
4. During simulation, the CNC verification software shall have an exact replica of the
CNC Machines, and its controller; using accurate CAD models of each machine using the universal CAD Data Exchange File Format of “.STEP” or “.STP” files as the NATIVE file format. It shall duplicate the exact movement, operating limits and controller behavior of each CNC machine and its components; enabling the programmer to visualize the machining process exactly as it will occur on the actual CNC machine on the shop floor.
5. The software shall have the ability to upload the machine controller’s internal macros, bit parameters, and system variables (provided by the government) into the CNC verification software to duplicate the exact movements and functions of the CNC Machine during program execution. The government shall provide all related machine macros.
6. During simulation, the verification software shall use the universal CAD Data
Exchange File Format of “.STEP” or “.STP” files as the NATIVE file format for Part, Stock, and Machine Components of the simulation process.
7. Verify dimensional accuracy. The software shall include comprehensive analysis tools such as measuring, cross-sectioning, and comparison tools to compare the machined part to the design model to make sure the machined part will exactly match the design model.
8. The verification software shall scan through the entire program, detect program, parameter, or syntax errors, AND provides a preview of the tool path BEFORE any simulation.
9. The verification software shall have the ability for BOTH the CNC programmer and machine operator (on the shop floor) to have an interactive view of the program and verification process. Being able to step forward, or backward in the program and see each motion dynamically update the tool path with each step, and to have complete control of the playback process. Material shall be removed when playing forward, and added back on when played backward. In addition, when machined surfaces are clicked on, it shall take you to that place in the program that created it.
10. The G-code program window, detected errors window, and tool path window shall all be displayed simultaneously with the ability to dynamically jump to various parts of the program updating in each window. When text in the G-Code program window is clicked on, it shall take you to that place in the tool path window, or vice-versa; when a place in the tool path window is clicked on, it shall take you to that place in the G-Code program window. When an error in the program has been detected, clicking on the error shall take you to that place in the program window where the error is found.
11. The CNC verification software shall be easy to set-up and use. The user interface must be intuitive, with the look and feel of familiar Microsoft™ Windows™ CGI environment, and use features such as drag and drop™.
12. Simulation shall display a color-coded tool path in the tool path window when the tool has cutter compensation active. For example: When G41 or G42 is active in the tool path, that portion of the tool path shall be color coded to show exactly where it is active or not.
13. All 3D CAD models of the following CNC Machines and their components shall be provided by the CNC Verification Software Company.
1) Mazak Nexus II 410a
2) Mazak Nexus II 410b
3) Mazak Nexus II 510c
4) Mazak Nexus II 700d
5) Mazak Nexus HCN-5000
6) Mazak Integrex e420H II
7) Mazak Versatech V-100/200R
8) Okuma MILLAC 1052V
9) Okuma MCR BII HP
14. Speed; the simulation software shall perform all simulations quickly. The simulation software shall have the ability to zoom in, zoom out, pan, rotate during the simulation, and shall not slow, stop, or delay the simulation.
15. The simulation software shall be compatible with “3DConnexion” Spaceballs (3D mouse).
16. The software shall simulate all Renishaw® machine probe cycles. The simulation shall include both positioning, and advanced probe simulations, which includes complete simulation of all Renishaw® probe cycles. The government shall provide Renishaw® macro files associated with each machine probe.
17. The software shall work with the Postprocessors currently installed on the CNC
Programmers workstations. (These postprocessors are proven, and owned by the USAF installed at HAFB.)
18. The contractor shall ensure all software is installed and functioning correctly between
Government owned CAM Software and CNC Simulation software.
19. Maintenance Contract: Software must come with a 1-year maintenance agreement, with the option of 4 additional years, which will include tech support, along with any software upgrades, enhancements, and new versions of software.
4.0 Delivery and Verification
Point of Contact information for delivery will be identified at time of award.
5.0 Warranty
The contractor shall provide any OEM pass through warranty and standard commercial warranties applicable to the products being purchased at no additional cost. One-year warranty shall be effective from the date of shipping.
