#Date Question ReceivedQuestions from IndustryGovernment Response
111-Feb-2015Looking over the AMS7881 specification on page 4 under section 5.1.2 it states this powder to be TUNGSTEN CARBIDE-COBALT CHROME POWDER. According to the chemistry this powder calls only for Tungsten and Cobalt. Please clarify which one is right.
Unfortunately, paragraph 5.1.2 of AMS 7881A is incorrect. The correct information should read: "TUNGSTEN CARBIDE-COBALT POWDER", the same as the title of this specification. Since this information is for labeling purposes, it doesn't materially effect this solicitation. The correct product chemistry is listed in Table 1 of AMS 7881A. Table 1 is also called out in paragraph 6 of the Powder Purchase Requirements.
216-Feb-2015Please advise if Method 1, Method 2, or Method 3 is what you want quoted. The particle size distribution shall be per "Method 2" of AMS 7881A.
316-Feb-2015Which type of gun system/ fuel will be used for each spec?Method 2 designates powder materials typically sprayed with a Praxair/TAFA HVOF thermal

spray system using kerosene fuel.

4 16-Feb-2015 Is the quote for 4000 lb for each of the 5 types or is this 800 lb / type and the total is 4000 lb? All 4000 pounds of powder shall meet the requirements of Method 2 of AMS 7881A.
