Questions and Answers on CNC Machines 1 Question on the NOTE below the control specs. Are you asking to run a Mazatrol or EIA/ISO (G-code) program on another suppliers machine? The NOTE is not specific and certainly if you wanted to run a Mazatrol program on another suppliers machine this could not happen, therefore making this a single source bid.
Answer: Most of our work is done through EIA/ISO (G-code) and we would like to be able to take programs that we already have existing and be able to move from machine to machine, depending on availability, without much additional time to the operator. Also when we take it from the drawing software to machine code(compile the code) we will not need to incur any additional equipment/cost to the government to perform these tasks.
What we are looking for is if you are quote using an equivalent controller, that you provide enough information on how they are equivalent (not identical) and that the government is not going to be required to buy new hardware or software to implement and support this equipment. In addition, we will not be required to move projects from machine to machine.
