About this file

This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for the Air Force Materiel Command seeking potential manufacturers of specialized aircraft ejection seat and parachute cutter assemblies. The synopsis targets small businesses (including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned) to potentially supply three specific National Stock Number cutter assemblies for multiple aircraft platforms including A-10, B-1, B-2, F-15, F-16, F-22, and F-117. The specific components include a Reefing Line Cutter Assembly (1.15 second delay), a Survival Kit Locking Cord Cutter Assembly (4.0 second delay), and a Drogue Chute Cutter Assembly (0.25 second delay).

Interested parties are requested to provide a company profile including employee count, office location, CAGE Code, DUNS Number, and small business status, along with relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of similar egress components within the last three years. The market research aims to determine if the procurement can be a small business set-aside under NAICS code 325920 with a size standard of 750 employees. Responses were due by 3:00 PM, with questions directed to Roger Mott at 801-777-7358 or roger.mott@us.af.mil. Notably, Roberts Research Laboratories currently holds the capability and drawings for these items, and the US Government does not own or have rights to the manufacturing data.
