Questions & Answers - Request for Quote - FA8201-24-Q-M001 - Hill Aerospace Museum Static Aircraft Restoration - January 2025 Requirement
Question 1: Safety Plan
Question: Is the safety plan something that you want included with the bid package. In the past, from my experience, it is usually submitted post contract award before start date?
Answer: The safety plan will be submitted after contract award, it does not need to be submitted with the proposal.
Question 2: Work Area:
Question: Will any hangar space be available for the restoration process, or will all work be required to be performed outdoors?
Answer: All aircraft are static, and all work must be done outside.
Question: If outdoors, are there any weather protection measures in place, or will we need to provide temporary enclosures?
Answer: See PWS Hill Static Aircraft Restoration - January 2025, Section 1.5 and 1.6.
Question 3: Painting Facilities & Equipment:
Question: Is there a paint booth available for use, or will painting need to be performed in an open-air environment?
Answer: There is no paint booth available for use. Painting will take place outside.
Question: Are there any existing ventilation or containment systems in place for overspray and environmental protection?
Answer: See PWS Hill Static Aircraft Restoration - January 2025, Section 1.5 and 1.6.
Question 4: Lifts & Support Equipment:
Question: Are scaffolding, aerial lifts, or maintenance stands available for contractor use, or will we need to provide all equipment?
Answer: See PWS Hill Static Aircraft Restoration - January 2025, Section 1.0
Question: Is there compressed air and electrical access for spray equipment and power tools?
Answer: The outlets at the museum are predominately 120V outlets and rated to handle 15 to 20 amps depending on outlets accessed. No air compressor or power tools will be provided by the government, however the contractor can use the museum outlets to run their own air compressor and power tools.
Question 5: Material Storage & Disposal:
Question: Is on-site secure storage available for paints, primers, and equipment during the project duration?
Answer: We don’t have any storage available on site; however, we can provide a place to park a trailer or storage container on the property if needed.
Question: What are the procedures for hazardous waste disposal and paint removal containment?
Answer: See PWS Hill Static Aircraft Restoration - January 2025, Section II.
Question 6: Site Access & Operating Restrictions:
Question: Are there any specific security clearance requirements for contractor personnel?
Answer: There are not any security clearance requirements for contractor personnel. The museum is located off base, and therefore there are no security requirements.
Question: Will work be limited strictly to 0630-1600 operating hours, or are after-hours/weekend shifts an option for scheduling flexibility?
Answer: We can support work outside of the 0630-1600 if projected ahead of time, the sooner we know the sooner we can work to support outside hours. Please submit a request for work outside of normal working hours after the contract has been awarded.
