Dell R450 Servers Question 1: I couldn't find any requirement on new or refurbished, could you please specify?
Answer 1: the requirement is for new R450 servers
Question 2: In reviewing the solicitation, it does not mention disposal of the current servers. We have worked with Dell on decommissioning servers being replaced by removing all data from the hard drives and assisting either in the return, recycling or disposal of legacy equipment.
Answer 2: there is no requirement for removal or disposal of old equipment. Just the purchase of the new hardware.
Question 3: Per my Dell team verbatim regarding the BOM:
(c) Two (2) ProSupport Plus Next Business Day Onsite Service After Problem Diagnosis 5 Years (859-3888)
(d) Two (2) ProSupport Plus 7x24 Technical Support and Assistance 5 Years (859-3889)
Not available – there is a ProSupport Next Business Day – or a ProSupport Plus with Mission Critical 4 Hour response…(the first is cheaper…)
Please ask customer to advise which support they want to go with.
Answer 3: ProSupport Next Business Day for 5 years is acceptable
Question 4: Is Open market pricing acceptable?
Answer 4: Yes
Question 5: Is the department only looking to buy the hardware or is there a need for professional services as well?
Answer 5: hardware only
Question 6: Just wanted to confirm that As per vendor “ProSupport Plus Next Business Day Onsite Service—not available, substitute provided 5 Years ProSupport Plus Mission Critical 4-Hour Onsite Service” Please advise if this is acceptable
Answer 6: this conflicts with question 3. Is the ProSupport Next Business Day an available option? If not the “ProSupport Plus Mission Critical 4-Hour Onsite Service” is acceptable.
Question 7: The configuration is missing the motherboard information and I wanted to know if “PowerEdge R450 Motherboard with Broadcom 5720 Dual Port 1Gb On-Board LOM [329-BGHZ]” is acceptable.
Answer 7: yes, this is acceptable
