About this file

This document is an Environmental Management System (EMS) Awareness Training file for contractors working at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB). The document outlines Tinker AFB's environmental management goals and training requirements, including significant environmental aspects such as hazardous waste generation, air emissions, and storm water management. Key objectives include maintaining compliance with no notices of violation, reducing hazardous waste by 20% by 2020, reducing solid waste by 65% by weight by 2020, and reducing Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) releases by 35% by 2020.

The training requirements mandate that contractor employees review the Tinker EMS General Awareness Training PowerPoint slides and the annual EMS policy letter. Contractors must certify that all employees physically working on Tinker AFB will view these training materials. The document provides contact information for Mr. Joe Kracke, the EMS Coordinator, and emphasizes that environmental compliance and stewardship is the duty of each individual working on the base. The EMS was formally established in November 2005, with the latest Self-Declaration of conformance on 30 Aug 2018.
