DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE OKLAHOMA CITY
AIR LOGISTICS COMPLEX (AFMC) TINKER AIR FORCE BASE
OKLAHOMA
MEMORANDUM FOR
FROM:
SUBJECT: Request for Brand Name Purchase Electric Motor Analyzer 2
1. request the purchase of the following item(s):
Two (2) PN 95-1-020
- Motor Analyzer 2 with Surge 3000V and 6000V HiPot
Two (2) PN 95-1-020D
- Printcom Software G2 for Motor Analyzer 2.
2. The Schleich Motor Analyzer 2 P/N 95-1-020 is a light weight battery operated tester.
Due to the weight of other testers, along with the requirement of an internal power source is a necessity because 120 volt power outlets are not always available. PdM motor technicians have advance training with the use of this Schleich Motor Analyzer 2 along with its software configuration. This static motor analyzer is consistent with what is currently being used within the and is compatible with existing attachments currently on hand. We are currently moving forward to do more static testing rather than dynamic motor testing.
With this static motor tester it allows greater access to hard to reach areas such as roof tops and equipment with no power source. Employees will no longer need to carry bulky extension cords or UPS systems for their power source. These 2 new motor analyzers will give the PdM team greater capacity with our increasing workload to cover critical assets and prevent production downtime.
3. The Schleich Motor Analyzer 2 is the only known brand that can satisfy the needs of the government at this time without having to purchase and approve additional software requirements. This analyzer uses the same software as our current dynamic motor analyzer that is already registered for use at Our motor technicians are already thoroughly trained on Schleich Motor Analyzers which will allow the equipment to be expedited to the production floor for immediate use. We currently have a yearly maintenance contract for the Schleich Motor Analyzer thus preventing us from having to have multiple yearly service contracts from other vendors if we maintain uniformity with like equipment. It is a must that this motor analyzer be battery operated due to remote locations that have no 120v electrical power source to provide power for the analyzer. The only other battery operated analyzer we have found that is able to produce 6000 volts for testing purposes is a PDMA at a cost of
. The Schleich Motor Analyzer 2 is also light weight and in a durable self-contained hard case which is imperative when climbing ladders onto roofs and other hard to get to remote locations.
4. Market research was performed reviewing Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) and System for Award Management (SAM) databases using North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code (334515) looking for companies that could provide an Electric Motor
Analyzer 2. A review of small businesses to include 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and Women Owned Small Business was conducted in search of a company that could provide an Electric Motor Analyzer 2. In review there are three (3) sources that can provide this commodity for this acquisition.
