STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
A21-025 AFT BACKBONE STANDS
Prepared By:
OC-ALC/OBCA
15 April 2021
2 SoW A21-025 AFT Backbone Stands, 15 April 2021
PREAMBLE
Commander’s Safety Intent: The safety of everyone on Tinker AFB is our top priority. All Individuals must accept personal responsibility for safety and seek opportunities for improving the safety of our work environment. Everyone working on Tinker AFB is challenged to find, fix (if able) and report all hazards and near-misses. It is our shared duty to take every reasonable step and precaution to prevent accidents and preserve the health/safety of each Contractor and Government employee.
1. SCOPE
76 AMXG requires the purchase of five (5) each B-1 Pig Pens, fabricated in accordance with (IAW) the drawing (X202076480), including delivery, assembly, validation/verification, and documentation for Tinker Air Force Base. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, parts, consumables, transportation, and any other items necessary to provide the fabrication, delivery, assembly, validation/verification, and documentation for five (5) each B-1 Pig Pens and any incidentals necessary to provide the requirements of this Statement of Work (SOW).
2. BACKGROUND
The B-1 Aircraft requires the use of two maintenance stands that are installed on the backbone of the aircraft. LT100129-001 (YF1108-YF1294) and LT100130-001 (YF1294-YF1435). Currently there are two sets with one undergoing repair and AMXG needs to set up a contract/contractor to manufacture additional sets. The current stands are used both on the PDM and SRL lines and inhibit the ability of the technicians to complete specific tasks and needed a redesign.
Having the additional sets of pig pen maintenance stands for the B-1 Aircraft will minimize the impact to the production lines. Redesign of these stands will eliminate the need to use fall protection systems for some processes in PDM, as well as, allowing technicians to conduct work without the need to move a stand out of the way, risking damage to aircraft and injury to personnel. It will also reduce or even eliminate transport of these stands to the MROTC. This will also minimize potential damage to stands caused by transport.
