1 DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 INFORMATION

1.1.1 This PWS establishes the minimum requirements to return the end item to a serviceable but not like new condition.

1.1.2 Work accomplished on the equipment shall be in accordance with instructions contained in this PWS and/or the prime manufacturer's latest repair procedures listed in Attachment 2. This statement does not stipulate the level of repair of each item, but does require compliance with item technical orders (T.O.) for any repairs and tests. Work accomplished shall be to the extent authorized in this appendix.

1.1.3 Specific instructions supporting general series T.O., manuals, regulations, specifications, drawings, and other documents affecting the work done on this equipment shall be complied with during the conversion of a repairable item to a serviceable item unless otherwise authorized by this document. These documents are listed in Attachment 2 of this PWS.

Repairs shall not be accomplished solely for cosmetic reasons.

1.1.4 Depot Support Equipment (DSE) required to accomplish the scope of the work to be performed on end items under this contract is listed in the appropriate T.O. in Attachment 2 of this appendix or in Appendix B of this contract. If the equipment specified in the T.O. or Appendix B is not specified elsewhere in this contract as "Government Furnished", the Contractor is responsible for furnishing or the acquisition of identical or substitute DSE from commercial sources.

1.1.5 Certified accuracy of calibrated DSE shall be maintained at all times by the contractor and be available for review by the Government.

1.1.6 This contract is a Contractor Furnished Material (CFM) contract for both end item and DSE.

For the purpose of this Work Specification, CFM may be defined as Government funded contractor-furnished material. This definition is further explained by stating that this is a cost type contract so that all material furnished will be purchased by the contractor using contract funds. Material purchased by the contractor under a given deliver order is authorized for use on subsequent delivery orders. The contractor shall purchase long lead-time material required for subsequent option years using available funds on the current delivery order. This in no way relieves the contractor of the responsibility to furnish the necessary material to perform the specific work as defined in this PWS. Lack of CFM parts is not an acceptable justification for missed production.

1.1.7 End items repair price shall contain all labor and material costs associated with total end item repair including subassemblies, unless specifically excluded from the end item price by other provisions of this PWS. End item prices shall include repair of Depot Support Equipment

(DSE).

1.1.8 After induction of U.S. Air Force assets into the repair line, the Contractor shall not mix the Air Force’s assets with that of another country's assets at any point in the repair process under this or other contracts.

1.2 PRE-AWARD SURVEY REQUIREMENTS
