About this file
This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for commercial heat treating ovens issued by the U.S. Air Force Academy.
The solicitation seeks four types of electric heat treating ovens for laboratory use: two primary high-temperature heat treating ovens, two compact auxiliary high-temperature ovens, one long-chamber high-temperature heat treating oven, and two dedicated tempering ovens. All equipment must be new, suitable for repeated instructional and research use, and include programmable touchscreen controls with direct on-screen access to program creation and execution. The primary ovens require a maximum operating temperature of at least 2350°F with internal chamber dimensions of at least 9" W x 5" H x 18" D, operating on 240V single-phase power. Compact auxiliary ovens must reach 2350°F with 7" W x 5" H x 7" D chambers and operate on 120V single-phase power. The long-chamber oven requires 2200°F capability with 10" W x 6" H x 49" D dimensions and 240V power with a maximum 60A breaker requirement. Tempering ovens must reach 1000°F minimum and be stackable on the primary units. The government's technical baseline is the Evenheat product family (KO, LT, Cube, and KF Extreme series), and all proposed equipment must meet or exceed the minimum salient characteristics. All ovens must include at least a one-year manufacturer warranty, English-language documentation, user manuals, and manufacturer technical support for installation and setup. The solicitation is set aside 100% for small business, with a firm fixed price arrangement for each line item. Delivery is required within 120 calendar days from the date of award. The offer due date is August 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time, with delivery to the HQ USAFA Division of Engineering in Colorado Springs. Inspection and acceptance will occur at both destination and contractor locations. Payment will be made via electronic funds transfer through the Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) system. The solicitation incorporates FAR clauses 52.212-1, 52.212-4, 52.212-3, and 52.212-5, along with various DFARS and additional contract clauses addressing buy American requirements, item unique identification, and other regulatory requirements.
