Question 1: Requested materials, which PLA color option shall be included with the quote?
Answer: A certain color for any materials included is not required. Vendors may select any color for any materials provided with purchase. At a minimum, materials with the purchase should cover machine start up and training.
Question 2: If the dual extruder is needed, is this because the second head is for support material only?
Answer: Yes, it’s for support material only
Question 3: Can the support material be the same as the modeling material, also referred to as break away supports, as opposed to soluble/dissolvable support material?
Answer: Yes, some materials like PLA only use model material as support, but we also want soluble support for other materials that can use it.
Question 4: Can we install a 240V connection 15A?
Answer: No
Question 5: Do you have a specific budget to stay within?
Answer: We will not be disclosing any budgetary information.
Question 6: Do you need 2 printers or just 1 printer?
Answer: We need two 3D printers that will match the salient characteristics listed in Attachment 1 – High Quality Precision Prototyping 3D Printers Salient Characteristics.
Question 7: Is the strength of the parts of interest, or are you interested in high temperature materials, or high strength materials?
Answer: Need multiple materials with different material properties to allow cadets to experiment.
