AIR COMPRESSOR
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
24 SEP 2024
1. It mentions 80-180PSIG and also 164 CFM. The RS30I compressor listed does NOT make 164 cfm at 180psig. (It makes 164cfm @ 145psig and only 132cfm @200PSI) What is the cfm and pressure maximum required for this application?
RESPONSE: Current Model has max 188 CFM @ 120 PSI… This would be the target requirement. (120 PSI Min). At or around 188 CFM to be able to keep up with usage.
2.The request mentions installation but we certainly cannot quote installation without visiting the site and developing a scope of work as to what is included with installation. We cannot do this with only 24 hours’ notice for the quote request. We can quote equipment and startup costs but not installation. Will this be sufficient?
RESPONSE: Site Visit is scheduled for 11:30 am EDT on Wednesday, 25 Sep 2024. Full installation into the building will not be performed via vendor. Our BCE will be installing the equipment into the electrical/air hose system.
3. Will you require any dryer, filtration, oil/water separator, or receiver tank with the single compressor?
RESPONSE: Yes to dryer/filtration. Connections currently set-up for 1 ½” pipe. Building Air lines already installed. No oil/water separator on current unit.
4. Will our local site be able to visit the site to provide an installation and rigging estimate?
RESPONSE: See #2
5. Can you confirm that this will not be housed outside without a roof?
RESPONSE: Indoor location, however in a public area / cover/noise reduction is considered.
6. Distance from Panel and Disconnect: Could you please confirm the distance from the electrical panel to the disconnect for the compressor installation? This will help ensure accurate installation planning.
RESPONSE: 60A breaker (100A available) is located approximately 10’ from the currently Air compressor
7. Breaker Space for 80 Amp Fuse: Could you kindly confirm if there is sufficient breaker space available to accommodate an 80 Amp fuse in the current setup?
RESPONSE: Current Set-up is on a 100A circuit, with a breaker down to 60A.
Capabilities up to 100A possible.
8. Old Equipment Removal: Will the old compressor equipment need to be removed? If so, will the government provide the necessary lifting equipment for loading and removal, or will the equipment be scrapped through the Air Force Base?
RESPONSE: Optional: Yes AF can provide equipment load equipment for removal. If not, AF can scrap through Base.
9. Where is the old compressor located and what will it take to remove and reset new unit New compressor will be located where the old compressor is located. Old compressor will need to be moved prior to placement of new compressor
RESPONSE: New compressor will be located where the old compressor is located. Old compressor will need to be moved prior to placement of new compressor
10. Do you plan to use the yellow hose?
RESPONSE: Yellow hose belongs to the rental company.
11. Will we have access to a forklift?
RESPONSE: Yes
