Questions and Answers #3 Question

Can you tell me the Corrosion Category of each piece of equipment? Accurate equipment condition helps us determine the level of repair that is needed for each piece and allows us to give the customer the most accurate price.

Answer

The B-1, B-4 stands will have to be sand blasted. Some of the 110 & 141 Trailers might need the same. The other units have areas with minor corrosion that will have to be repaired (cutting out and welding repair patches).

Question

Company A utilizes a proprietary Mobile Corrosion Repair Facility to perform repair on-site as opposed to having to transport equipment to and from a repair shop located off base. Company A takes care of all permitting required and disposes of all hazardous waste accumulated. Would we be allowed to set-up our facility to perform this work? We generally need an area approximately 150’x200’ with either an asphalt or concrete base. I have included a copy of our capability statement which gives an overview of our Corrosion Prevention and Control Services.

Answer

This will be difficult to get approved. Our base permits would require modifications and the approval process through the county takes time. It would be best if they find someplace off base, work with the county on their own and get the approval required.
