AC1 - 1. SCOPE OF PROJECT

The Project Scope is to build an addition next Bldg. 1415 to be used as War Readiness Material (WRM) Warehouse Facility (about 600.0 sq.mt). The objective of the project is therefore the expansion of the existing warehouse in order to be able to store 195 loading units inside, in analogy to what already exists in the neighbouring warehouse.

The area is characterized by the presence of two buildings: a prefabricated building (Fac. 1415), dimensions: 30,30x18,30m and a metal canopy (30,20x7,00m) also used as warehouse.

The outdoor area is completely paved with asphalt. There are some underground utilities such as the storm water collection system, the electrical connection line to the near electrical substation, the grounding line.

Existing building 1415 is made of prefab concrete elements (pillars, beams, infill panels and roof tiles), equipped with fixed aluminium windows placed at a height of about 6m from the ground with the function of light sockets, two sectional doors, 4.70m wide, for the access to the storage area and some accesses dedicated to specific premises.

The roof has two sloping pitches with a 27% gradient and a roofing tile covering. Externally, the building is tinted according to the types of paint required by the Aviano Design Guide.

The Expansion project anticipates the construction of a prefabricated building to be placed in adherence to the existing building. The building will have dimensions and characteristics similar to the existing warehouse, as shown on Drawings.

From an organizational point of view, the new rectangular building, with a size of about 30x50x18,30m, consists mainly of the storage space of the medical materials, with some service rooms such as restroom and technical rooms, the latter with direct access from the outside.

Structural works include the construction of a prefab facility with precast pillars, main prestressed beams with "L" section, plan roof in prefabricated tiles h = 60 cm. A cast in place concrete slab with ф = 8 mm welded mesh will realize a plan to support a steel frame roof. Perimeter walls will be with prefab panels with interposed continuous insulation. The foundations will be made of plinths connected by continuous curbs also having the function of panel-holding beams. The new structural works will allow to have 550 mq covered.

The building is accessed through two sectional doors with automatic control and two doors that also serve as escape route.

As well as in the existing building, the construction of fixed thermal break aluminium doors and windows with low emissivity and solar control glazing with light inlets is anticipated.

From an energy point of view, the building will be isolated as required and by current legislation.

Internally it is planned to build an industrial concrete floor, walls and ceiling painted with enamel paint, metal shelving arranged along the perimeter and in a central position, anchored to the building and destined for the storage of the required material.

As defined in the Kick-off meeting, the construction of the ventilated crawl space is not anticipated as continuous presence of personnel is not foreseen: this building is not considered a workplace.

On the roof, a lifeline will be installed and also extended to the roof of the existing building. In relation to the type of coverage it is preferable to provide for the realization of this protection system as it has a lower impact than a collective protection system such as a parapet.

Work to be performed includes but is not limited to the following items:

PART I – DEMOLITIONS, REMOVALS AND EXCAVATIONS

• Cut of concrete pavements and excavations in any kind of material for:

o installation of new utility lines (water and electrical);

PRE-FINAL (60% design) AC1 Page 7 of 58 o installation of new water treatment buried parts;

o disconnection and seal of drain line from wash rack inlets to existing Oil-Water Separator

• All other items of work as indicated on drawings and Schedule of Work Items.

PART II – REPAIR WORKS

• Furnishing and installation of complete new underground water treatment systems including all new piping, tanks, pumps, connections and dedicated electrical system, including grounding system;

• Furnishing and installation of new precast concrete pits;

• Furnishing and installation of new above ground treatment plant, including the insulated equipment containment box to house the new plant;

• Installation of new electric feeding lines from the existing panel, to the new installed equipment, where needed;

• Furnishing and installation of new aboveground temporary storage tank for treated water, including the new reinforced concrete slab underneath.

• Repair of paved areas disturbed by works, including trench and excavation backfill and compaction;

• Every other item to provide a wash rack fully functional, in accordance with applicable norms and to perform a job in a workmanlike manner.
