The Multisensor is a compact unit containing sensors to provide energy-saving functions when used in a DALI system. It contains:
• A light sensor
• A passive infrared (PIR) movement detector
• An infrared receiver (for remote control)
The unit is push-fitted into a ceiling or luminaire housing.
The light sensor measures the ambient-light level in the room. The PIR detector enables the system to detect when the room is occupied. Helvar infrared remote control can be used to set the required light levels and to carry out basic system programming.
Key Features
• Presence detection default time-out of 20 minutes.
• Programmable constant light control for energy efficiency.
• Complete control using the hand-held remote.
• A local switch can be fitted to provide ON/OFF and a manual dimming function.
• The multisensor’s programmable functions are set by five DIL switches at the back of the unit.
• These DIL switch settings can be overridden remotely by Helvar’s Toolbox or Designer software – no need for access to the Multisensor after installation.
• The coverage restrictor (provided) can be fitted to the Multisensor for more precise constant-light coverage.
Additional Functions
• The remote control handset can program most functions. Toolbox and Designer give full system access.
• Multiple linked PIR sensors connected in one system can communicate with each other and switch off the loads when all sensors are nondetecting.
• The automatic ON/OFF sequence of the presence detection system has three programmable steps (on, intermediate, off). Users can define how the loads react to the automatic presence detection commands from the Multisensor.

The 329 DALI External Light Sensor, when used in conjunction with a Helvar Lighting Router based controls system, can provide energy savings by adjusting light levels based on the available daylight.
Mount the 329 outdoors to monitor the level of daylight. For instance, bright sunlight will raise the overall light level in the rooms of a building. The sensor will detect this, and the system will reduce the energy levels supplied to the lamps.
If the day then becomes overcast, the system will respond to the lower levels of ambient light by increasing the energy provided to the lamps. By profiling the building (measuring the daylight contribution per room), the system can be used to maintain an approximate constant light level, and thereby reduce energy use.
The 329 is for mounting outdoors. The unit head assembly is waterproof when correctly installed and mounted vertically, and can tolerate a wide range of operating temperatures and conditions.
Key Features
• Open loop light control
• Light range of 1 lx – 100 000 lx
• Simple mounting
• Easy connection to Helvar router system

Light Level Output The external light sensor is calibrated to provide a scaled light level output of 0 to 200 covering the full range of daylight. The sensitivity of the external light sensor is factory-set, and no adjustment is required.
Installation Notes
• The unit is intended for wall mounting.
• Isolate the mains supply before installation.
• Cabling must be 230 VAC mains rated.
• Do not mount sensor in direct line of artificial light sources, e.g. lamps, uplighters.
• The unit must be mounted vertically, i.e. with the clear
Sensor Head Cover pointing upwards. Any convenient surface may be used as long as the sensor element has a reasonably unrestricted view of the sky.
• To avoid the possible risk of lightning strikes, never install the external light sensor at the highest point on a building.

Load wiring
Connection details
The 2-Channel Blinds Controller is a DALI-compatible interface unit that allows control of blinds and curtains in a DIGIDIM lighting control system. The blinds controller is a DIN-rail mounted unit that provides two independent control channels, each with two single-pole, volt-free contacts for switching up to 550 W up/down or power direction motors from a DIGIDIM system.
The unit has a status LED, a physical selection switch and relay-state indicators. The status LED provides status and a fault indication. The physical selection switch is used to identify the device during system configuration. The relay-state indicator LEDs are illuminated when the respective relay is closed.
Note: This unit does not contain a DALI power supply.
Therefore, one must be present elsewhere in the system.
Key Features
• Up/Down mode operates in a ‘Break before Make’ manner to prevent motor damage.
• Relays are internally isolated permitting separate mains phases to be used for each control channel.
• All DALI functions are programmed with either DIGIDIM
Toolbox or Designer software.
• DIN-rail mounted and only 88 mm wide.
Installation Notes
• The blinds controller is for use with motors up to 550 W.
• The external mains supply to the unit must be protected. It is recommended that a 6 A MCB is used.
• All cabling must be 230 V mains rated.
