Additional Response Needs
Description
Specifications
Body Structure
Co-polymer plastic structure, 100% Water resistant, support slide-out trays, All external walls must be of WHITE finish. Four support legs will be needed to even out the trailer with additional individual spreader plates for using the legs on soft or unstable ground.
Roof Platform
Installed roof mounted platform to support weight for 5 personnel at a capacity for 500KG. Platform must have safety rail system that easily folds down for transport. In addition a fold-up canopy system will lock in place to the handrail system. Canopy must be able to withstand winds up to 30kts.
External Access
The design will need to have two areas must be built for the external access to the internally stowed equipment.
On the nearside of the trailer we will need an externally mounted flap for access to the three “suit-up” stations, the additional equipment to re-stow these areas and the heavy duty front-mounted tray system. The external flap would offer some weather protection as well.
To the rear of the trailer there will be a central door which will allow access to a rear compartment which will house the final stowage area. This area is to support perishable medical consumables and charging points for radios and torches/ portable flood lights.
Stowage Systems
1. ‘Suit Up’ Stations: This will be one of three ‘Suit Up’ Stations, included within this area is a slide out system which will allow response personnel a slide out seat unit to assist with suiting up and changing into protection equipment/gear. Mounted into the slide out system will be an air pack quick release system to allow the air pack systems to be left assembled for quick donning.
2. Spare Air Pack Equipment Locker: Alongside the ‘Suit Up’ Stations will need a stowage system to hold all of the additional air cylinders, air pack shoulder straps, additional gas tight suits and adjoining boots. The additional equipment will be contained within a stowage system to hold the cylinders in vertical orientation for ease of deployment.
3. Front through locker: To provide sufficient space for the long items required for deployment the front locker will traverse the body behind the front bulkhead. A locker will be needed with a heavy duty cradle system which will provide stowage for the Air Shelter, pop up gazebos and ancillary items such as chairs, tables etc. This locker will have the option of being able to be accessed from the side of the trailer and will have a sliding tray system which can be slid out from either side.
4. Offside Stowage Lockers: To provide stowage for the remaining Pelicases there will be two stowage compartments. Each of these compartments will hold one lower cradle shelf for heavier equipment (such as portable generator), and two slide and tilt shelves for lighter equipment.
Electrical System
1. External: A 230V UK electrical inlet power supply will be used for charging equipment within the trailer. Also an addition 15 meter single-phase park-up cable needs be installed to support 110V equipment. Also for exterior of the trailer, install 4 scene lights. All of the exterior lights will be input 220v LED offering 1,000 lumens high lumens levels with 12V power on each output head. In addition to the scene lights, there needs to be two rotational spotlights rated input power at 220V with an output minimal 6,000 lumens which will be mounted on retractable poles on the rear corners of the trailer that could project light to about 30 feet away. The Flight will need to power outlet for the customers’ equipment in a variety of voltages from 120V and 220V. All outlet must be waterproof housing. To offer warmth to the personnel when suiting up, the fitting of two 220v halogen heat lamps output of 1,500-Watt gives a 9 ft. blanket of heat above the suit up stations.
2. Internal: A Main control panel inside the rear access door which houses circuit 15amp breakers for lighting and power outlets. The light switch will be co-located in the same area. The vehicle will need to be fitted with LED strip lights to all lockers and to the interior ceiling of the trailer. These will be mounted in aluminum protective track to stop damage by operational staff. The lights are all 12V and will run from an on-board battery pack to allow it to be entirely self-sufficient if the generator or mains power supply is unavailable. The lights will be switched from a main control panel inside the rear access door near the charging station. Additionally we need a LG 26LT640H - 26lt640h 26 hd-ready black LED TV or equal compatibly and size to the LG to allow the viewing of imagery from the incident ground at the command post. The screen is to have the capability of viewing photos from SD cards, Apple TV connectivity and laptop VGA / HDMI. To make the screen viewable from the outside if necessary, the screen will be mounted on a rotating arm to allow the screen to be swung round to a glass partition on the rear bulkhead for external viewing.
3. Generator Power: A 9kVA diesel generator with in line 50 liter fuel tank needs to be connected and installed on hitch for providing power if no shorepower offered. Fuel tank must allow generator to run for 8 hours.
